Technical Requirements and Information for Online Services

Browser

We take every step possible to ensure your online experience is secure. In order to proceed with the web application process or to check the status of your loan, your browser will need to support 128-bit encryption. 128-bit encryption is the most secure form of public key encryption available. It allows transactions to be encoded and decoded as you communicate from your PC to our servers. This is required for your protection and privacy. More information is available online at www.verisign.com. We recommend the following browsers or higher be used:

  • Netscape Version 7.0 or higher
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
  • AOL 7.0 or higher.

Viewing Screen (Monitor)

TERI’s website is best viewed at 800X600 pixels. To do this, simply right-click anywhere on your browser desktop, click "properties", click the "setting" tab, under the "desktop area" slide the thumb to 800X600 pixels, click "OK."

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)

The leading security protocol on the Internet. When an SSL session is started, the browser sends its public key to the server so that the server can securely send a secret key to the browser. The browser and server exchange data via secret key encryption during that session.

Java

A programming language for Internet (World Wide Web) and intranet applications. This language is included within most newer browsers, however, if your browser does not support this language you will need to add the plugin or upgrade your browser.

Cookies

A cookie is an Internet mechanism that lets site developers place information on the client’s (your) computer for later use. For example, some shopping cart technologies allow you to return to shopping at a later time. What this means is that a “cookie” containing your order is placed on your computer for the site’s computer to retrieve when you return.

You must also have cookies turned on.
