
Graduate Loan > Eligibility
You are eligible for a TERI Guaranteed Graduate Loan if you are:
- A graduate or professional student in a degree or certificate program
- Enrolled in school at least half-time (as determined by your school)
- Attending a TERI-eligible school (call (800) 255-TERI to confirm eligibility of school)
You must also meet the following credit guidelines:
If you are applying as a creditworthy borrower, you or a co-signer must:
- Have an employment history of at least two years (if self-employed, have been in business for at least two years);
- Have proof of current income;
- Have a satisfactory credit history of at least 21 months;
- Have resided at his or her current and immediately preceding addresses for a total of at least 12 months; and
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and has resided in the U.S. for the previous 2 years.
If you are applying as a creditready borrower, you must:
- Satisfy certain credit criteria, although an established credit history is not required; and
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who has had a stable residence in the U.S. for the past 2 years.
International Students
International students must apply with a qualified co-signer. Please contact TERI's Customer Service at (800) 255-TERI for details on acceptable student visas and other required documentation.
Creditworthy vs. Creditready?
TERI Guaranteed loans to creditworthy applicants generally carry lower rates and fees than those made to creditready applicants. So, if you are creditworthy or can apply with a creditworthy co-signer, the cost of your loan might be lower.
